Hippo enchanted by puppet

Pygmy hippo Chico had zoo-keepers at Heythrop, Oxfordshire, worried when he started refusing his food.

But he has been lured back into eating properly by a glove puppet based on Dreamworks' hippo character Gloria from the film Madagascar.

Hippos can eat for up to six hours a day, but this one had zoo-keepers were at their wits' end - until they spotted the little puppet in a supermarket promotion.

And now they use Gloria to hand-feed carrots to Chico! Hooray!
